Our Core Beliefs

We believe in one true God, who exists eternally in three persons: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. Each person of the Trinity is fully God, equal in nature, power, and glory, yet distinct in role and relationship. God is the Creator of all things, perfectly holy, just, loving, and unchanging.

The Bible is the inspired, infallible, and authoritative Word of God(2 Timothy 3:16-17). It serves as the ultimate guide of faith, doctrine, and Christian living. The Church of God teaches that the New Testament is the rule of faith and practice, emphasizing obedience to God's commands. 

Salvation is a gift of God’s grace and is received through faith in Jesus Christ (Ephesians 2:8-9). It requires:

• Repentance – Turning from sin (Acts 3:19).

• Faith in Christ – Accepting Jesus as Lord and Savior (Romans 10:9).

• Regeneration – Being "born again" by the Spirit         (John 3:3-7).

The Church also teaches that believers should pursue sanctification, a process of spiritual growth and holiness.

The baptism in the Holy Spirit is a distinct experience following salvation, evidenced by speaking in tongues (Acts 2:4). This experience empowers believers for:

• Bold witnessing (Acts 1:8).

• The operation of spiritual gifts (1 Corinthians 12:4-11).

• A deeper relationship with God.

The Church of God believes in the continuation of spiritual gifts such as prophecy, healing, and miracles, which are active in the Church today.

Believers are called to live a holy and righteous life, striving to reflect Christ in their actions (1 Peter 1:15-16). The Church emphasizes:

• Sanctification as a work of grace that leads to a purified heart.

• Moral purity, integrity, and obedience to God’s commands.

• The importance of prayer, fasting, worship, and community fellowship.

Holiness is not just about personal conduct but about love, service, and spiritual growth.

We at Cornerstone believe in the Great Commission—spreading the Gospel and making disciples (Matthew 28:19-20). This includes:

• Evangelism – Reaching the lost with the message of Jesus.

• Discipleship – Helping believers grow in their faith.

• Compassion Ministries – Serving the poor, sick, and needy.

The Church of God operates missionary efforts worldwide, believing in the unity of the global Church.

We believe that Jesus Christ will return personally and visibly (1 Thessalonians 4:16-17).

• Believers will be resurrected and caught up with Christ in what is often called the Rapture.

• There will be a final judgment—the righteous will enjoy eternal life with God, while the unrepentant will face separation from Him (Revelation 20:11-15).

This belief encourages Christians to live faithfully and be ready for Christ’s return.
